Wecome to Baantorfun Kindergarten
Knowledge without love does not stick.
The idea of Anubaan or Kindergarten came from Germany. The term “kindergarten” is actually a German word which has the meaning of a place for childrento blossom. Like a nice garden where we would grow strong trees, beautiful flowers and bushes. If one puts a lot of love, effort, knowledge and time into it, everything will grow to bloom. The kindergarten age is also known as part of the early childhood. Around the world we know nowadays that it is the most important time of a human’s life. So much can be achieved in these early years, but so much can also be done completely wrong. Like in your garden you have to know to do what, when. Do you plant in the shade or in the sun? Comparable with little children, where teachers have to find out what is suitable for each, individual child. How much and when do you water them. Like giving children everything they need at the right amount and time. What and how much fertilizer to use. As we do with children when we give them more knowledge and let them start to study. So done right one can groom a beautiful flower or raise a child to a wonderful human being. Taking a closer look at the rest of the world and how they educate their youngsters, we understand that Thailand has a lot to improve. In Thailand we accept that a Kindergarten is under the same roof as Primary and Secondary schools. Often that is done in huge schools with up to more than 1.000 students. Little children in a country like Finland, Germany or America would never be found as a part of a primary or secondary school. In all developed nations, kindergartens are separated to serve the proper and individual needs of our youngsters. It has been known for decades that the surroundings are extremely important for a child’s development. At early childhood the academic development is very important. It is comparable to giving some fertilizer to flowers in your garden. It is what will make them intellectual stronger. But there is so much more, which is as much or even more important. The emotional, the social or the physical development, for example. All countries that offer a world class education also understand the negative effects of big schools. After years of schools growing bigger and bigger to make it cheaper, we understand now the advantages of small schools. A vast amount of research has clearly shown that student of small schools outperform students from large schools. Still in Thailand, people believe that bigger schools are better. Around the world it is also known that nature has an immensely positive impact on the development of a child. Sadly though in Thailand we still believe that more concrete is better and many of our children see hardly natural light. Be qualified at what you are doing and do it right is the motto at Baantorfun. Our goal is to prepare our children the best way possible for primary school and life and we do it the right way. Early childhood development is a science and if done right the children will blossom. Baantorfun does it right as even early childhood students from the world leader in education come to Baantorfun to train. The school district office and the Ministry of education agree that Baantorfun is a high quality school. And don’t misunderstand please; Baantorfun is not small because we don’t have the resources to make it bigger. Baantorfun is small because that is what our children need.
